It’s been a while

I finally get some time to blog and my computer starts going nuts. My (least) favorite are the random reboots. Deleting the preference folder fixes them for Second Life for a while but then it comes back. And don’t get me started on it not responding to input devices in WoW…

I got this dress a while ago from Ibizarre as a blogger thank-you gift. I would have never gotten it for myself because I would have been worried about how the layered prim skirt (2 separate skirts worn together) would fit. I would have been wrong though, they fit perfectly just stretched a little and flow beautifully with the bottom one rarely breaking through the top. It’s been my favorite sundress this summer.

The hair is one of my hair fair buys (does that tell you how long I’ve been working on this? Sheesh!) It’s from Refuge and looks like you just threw it up and it happened to come out perfectly, which my real hair has done exactly once in my life. Perfect for casual looks.

Fleur as you all know has been rebranded and 5th & Oxford and I’m thrilled with the Audrey skin line. It’s my new favorite with the perfect blend of hand-drawn and photo-sourced elements. It’s only 500L each with a 6000L giftcard for 3600L. Ros and CJ are very good at temptation aren’t they? 😉

Vitamin Ci

It went well and I’m mostly back in business. Anyone know where I can get an eyepatch? 🙂

I love the buckle detail on Emma by Vitamin Ci.
My hair is Angela by Refuge. A little light for me, but really beautifully done prims.

Silly me, I watched the season finale of Heros hanging on the *plot*.

Trinitee Trilam of Refuge has shown us all the error of our ways once again with Saunders. And to think I wanted to kill her just cause she was mean to Mica. Now I have to raid her closet afterwards! My favorite thing about this outfit is that it comes with the coat and the top. So you can switch out when you get inside. Or just feel like it. Lots of great detailing on the textures. Lots of prims. I love the coat skirt. It just works. It looks incredible too.

Inset- Yes, I am wearing Miriel’s new “Find Your Way” necklace. It’s beautiful of course. I would soo buy this IRL. It has a longer chain to take advantage to the cleavage-baring fashions (I don’t look like I’m choking ;-)) Part of the Miriel Everyday line, it’s only $65L a set. Collect all 3 lol.

The hats are from Pixel Dolls. Neph’s gone just a little sculpty crazy ;->. If you noticed the lines in the top picture, they are there in-world too. Some kind of edge on the feather texture. This one on the bottom doesn’t have it. I fully intend to make a copy without the lace at some point as well.
You’ve probably also noticed my hair sticking through my hat too. I left it like that on purpose. In fact, I don’t own any hair that didn’t stick out of the hat without pushing it up so that it looked like it was sitting on hair made of steel instead of my head. Which I think is the one reason I forgot when I was approached by a beginning milliner as to why I didn’t wear them much.
The alternative, hats with hair attached, works well but leaves us with beautiful pieces like those above that still don’t look quite right. So a plea to hair designers- Hat Hair! Hair made specifically for going under hats. Fitting close to skull, then flaring out or whatever at the chin.
C’mon we know you can do it.

Shirts and Skins

Where do I start? The skin is from Bare Rose. Not only are they incredible, they’re $180L each. There’s a fair range of skin tones with regular, neko, and geisha makeups. You can see a little bit of the shading on the back but it’s even more impressive “in person”. The makeups are well-matched and well-blended. If I was a brunette I’d go nuts. I might anyway.

Next, clothes. Refuge has reopened with new stuff! I saw the shirt I’m wearing and new I had to have it. The jeans cut offs are from Tres Blah. The detailing is great isn’t it? BTW- the thing in the middle of my forehead is my Relay for Life Bindi from Norah. Just about everyone has a cancer story sometime I may torture you with mine. It’s a doozy! But right now I have more stuff to put into an outfit for you guys.

Where Am I?
