Happy Canada Day and happy 4th of July.

4th09_004

I don’t usually do “character” styles but the outfit and the date kind of called for the “ladies who lunch” on a yacht scene. IRL I’d be wearing shorts and a swimsuit with no jewelry (sea air bad for pretties). The outfit in question is recent from Fleur. It comes in several colors but I saw the blue stripes and knew what I was wearing for the 4th. The skin is a Fleur Vivant which may be my favorite skin line ever. Hair is Hair Fair booty from SLink.

“Monday, June 1 is Paint SL Purple Day where we ALL wear purple to raise awareness about the effects of cancer on us all, about Relay For Life and working to fund cancer research.

Roslin Petion has kindly put out a Special PURPLE Second Date dress at the Fleur Landing point. Only L$50 — a *steal* until Monday — and all sales go to relay for Life!”

Cheap, purple and Fleur? How could I resist?

I usually miss it but I remembered this year. So this is what I happen to be wearing.

resday_002

Hair from Dark Mouse, skin is LF Chai, top from Whippet & Buck, pants from GLAM. Shoes are my favorite flats by Lassitude & Ennui and my jewelry is by Muse.

What could possibly drag me out of my school-induced stupor? The opening of Savvy? designer Dakota Buck’s new store Whippet and Buck (along with Twiggy Whippet). I loved Savvy? and W&B looks like it’s going to be a new addiction.

w&bcasual_001

My favorite item (so far) in the new store is the boatneck tees. They’re very versatile and come in a rainbow of colors for just $60L a piece. The hair is a freebie (limited time) from Bryce. Possibly the best place for men’s and short women’s hair on the grid. Pose is a new freebie from TorridWear. Just join the group.

We know ‘kota loves her system skirts. And she’s spreading the love again with these high-waisted versions. More Bryce hair. Another Torrid pose. This one from the Drama set.

slinkpencil_001

This hair is new from Dark Mouse. The skirt is from SLink and the pose is Muism. Am I the only one who still wears her Vivant skins almost daily?

croppedjacket_002

Finally, the cropped jacket is another B&W release. I saw it and though 50’s ladies lunch. I’d love to see what other people did with it though.

Before school took me out of commission again I managed to get these pics of Pixel Dolls leather suit and one of her new skins. Really love the delicate texturing and detail on both.

I haven’t fallen back into the school black hole yet and I liked this outfit so I thought I’d show it you. The top is from Pixeldolls (currently on sale for $50L) and the skirt is from boing fromage. Not two stores I’d normally think of together but it works. Sandals are Shiny Things, skin is old Chai and the hair is new from Bryce. I’ve loved the styles from there for some time and now with the great new textures I have yet another hair addiction.

artilleri1

And a new skirt release from artilleri. I’ve developed a mania for system pencil skirts. Boots are from ETD and yes, another bag from Bare Rose. I kinda went on a shopping spree.

ivalde

Ivalde has started a more modern line called L’abel. Usually I try to restrain my preppy impulses but I let go with this one. This skin is Galactica from Chai and there’s a bag from Bare Rose to go with it.

So there are a few things I’ve picked up lately that other than at the RFL clothing fair. The shirt from Ornamental Life, the Maitreya skirt everyone has blogged, Cailyn’s new necklace (I’ve alway loved how much detail she puts in her stuff) and this bag from MALT. I’m not normally an orange person but this shade just works, especially against the purple.
